Ever feel like you're the one getting in your own way?
Most of us are on autopilot — reacting, coping, staying busy, doing whatever it takes to keep going.
It works… until it doesn’t.
Maybe you’ve noticed the same patterns playing out: over-giving, overthinking, shutting down, blowing up, zoning out.
Sometimes life just feels too much. But here’s something I want to say up front:
You’re not broken — you’re just running an old pattern that once helped you cope.
The problem is, those patterns can start getting in the way of the good stuff: clarity, connection and a bit more joy.
That’s your signal to pause and look a little closer.
This is about understanding how you’ve learned to protect yourself and gently finding your way back to choice, to connection and to a life that actually feels like yours.
And yeah, slowing down can be scary AF.
I get it.
Most of us have elite-level skills at staying busy so we don’t have to look under the hood.
But the first step is simple (but not easy)…
Pause, reflect and get curious.
That’s what we’re doing here, because building your self-awareness muscle isn’t just helpful - it’s the foundation.
From there? Acceptance. Support. Real choice.
It’s equal parts liberating and a little bit daunting.
Hey, I’m Rick…
Officially, I’m a holistic coach and Gestalt therapist-in-training. I run a weekly men’s circle and hold regular in-person workshops.
Unofficially, I’m a question-asker, a dot-joiner and a big believer that most of us aren’t as “fine” as we make out to be.
I love hanging out with humans who want something more honest from life. Not more hustle, not more achievement - just more of themselves back in the picture.
This process includes looking under the surface at the patterns, the triggers and the habits that once protected you but might be holding you back now.
Not to shame them, just to understand them.
Because that’s when things start to shift.
I’m definitely not here to fix or rescue you. I’m here to walk beside you while you remember how capable, clear and grounded you already are.
Personally?
I like deep chats, getting lost down YouTube rabbit holes and people who laugh at their own jokes. I don’t like how people’s shame is used against them to buy stuff so I work hard not to contribute to that shitty situation.
Basically, I celebrate the messy imperfection of being human.
Some days I want to run a retreat and other days I want to disappear into a cave - both feel highly possible.
But mostly, I’m here to help people come home to themselves in a way that feels real and sustainable while having a bit of fun along the way.
